The Catholic Community in the Archdiocese of Indianapolis grieves over the death of an African American man in Minneapolis on May 25 as well as several other recent incidents of racial hatred across our country, including the violence directed at a mosque in Indianapolis.
As local, state and federal agencies continue to monitor the coronavirus (COVID-19) closely, our parish family’s health and safety, including our staff and volunteers, remain of the utmost importance. We expect our public celebration of Mass and other sacraments will begin sometime after Monday, June 1.
The Spencer County Catholic parishes of St. Boniface in Fulda and St. Meinrad in St. Meinrad each have received a $3,000 grant to assist local residents during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dear Sisters & Brothers in Christ, These few weeks of staying in place to fight the coronavirus, although a very short time frame in the grand scheme of things, has felt like ages for many. Though it has been difficult on practically everyone, as previously stated, the decision to close churches was made out of an abundance of caution.
The five Catholic dioceses of the Province of Indianapolis will begin resuming in-person liturgies (e.g. Mass and Sacraments) with restrictions outlined by each diocese and provided to the parishes within their respective jurisdictions.
