Ten members of St. Boniface and St. Meinrad parishes traveled to Belize to build House 515 the week of June 16-22, 2024. This year’s Hand In Hand Ministry home was built for Clarissa and her 3-year-old daughter. Clarissa’s mother and niece will also be living with her in their newly built, light blue home.
Of those parishioners on the immersion trip, four attended for the first time: Amanda Gudorf, Parker Gudorf, Rylie Kelley, and Samantha Haefling. On the trip for their second time were Michael Gudorf, Wyatt Gudorf, and Maddie Gudorf; three years: Marty Lautner; four years, Aaron Boehm, and six-plus years, Pam Davis.
When asked about the highlights from the trip, participants offered these comments:
Helping a family in need and gaining the experience along the way
Team games at the house were great
Visiting the families that we have built for before and getting to see how they make the house a home
Helping ones in need
Being able to share the experience with the entire family
Laughter and friendship
How we can accomplish so much as a team
Mass in Belize
