Communal Anointing of the Sick will be on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, during the 4:15 p.m. Mass at St. Meinrad Parish. After a brief homily, individuals wishing to receive this sacrament are asked to move to the end of the pew along the center aisle. The infirm and individuals needing assistance seated in the first pew on either side will receive this sacrament first. For more information about receiving this sacrament, visit https://smcatholic.church/anointing-of-the-sick.
Anointing of the Sick is a sacrament of healing. The idea behind this sacrament is that we are all members of the body of Christ. When one of us suffers, all of us suffer, and all of God's creation suffers with us.
A parishioner or caregiver is strongly encouraged to contact the parish office and speak with a staff member to request a priest visit their home to receive this sacrament if their particular situation does not allow for the communal celebration of this sacrament.
