Join our brothers and sisters throughout the Archdiocese of Indianapolis on Sunday, January 23, 2022, by supporting the annual appeal for the Church in Latin America collection. Please join me in offering your prayerful and vocal support.
Since the bishops of the United States established it after the Second Vatican Council concluded, the Collection for the Church in Latin America has strengthened bonds of unity and solidarity between Catholics in the United States and those in Latin America and the Caribbean. Contributions made in the spirit of loving neighborliness support vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life, form young people to realize their callings as missionary disciples, and enable the Church’s outreach to indigenous peoples and those living in remote, rural areas.
All Catholics are called to lives of missionary discipleship, regardless of their state in life, where they live, how much formal education they have, or what work they do to support themselves and their families. With prayer, formation, and training, lay evangelists effectively serve their communities and enliven their parishes with the joy of the Gospel.
The Diocese of Girardota, Colombia, with support from the Collection for the Church in Latin America, is fostering this spirit of evangelization and discipleship in 66 women from rural agricultural communities by providing leadership training workshops that equip them to form and lead women’s groups in each of the 33 parishes in the diocese.
Your participation in the collection is a meaningful and practical expression of solidarity with these women and with all of those in the communities they serve. We are here to support your efforts to promote this important collection.
On behalf of those who benefit from the Collection for the Church in Latin America, thank you! May our merciful and loving God, through the intercession of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of the Americas, bless you always.

The annual national Collection for the Church in Latin America (CLA) will be the weekend of January 22-23. The 2022 campaign highlights the faith of Latin America and the many opportunities we have to share faith with them. We also recognize the tremendous benefit of having our Latin American brothers and sisters in the Church and the revitalization their fervor brings to the faith. In addition to offering our help and support to the Catholics of Latin America, we have much to learn from them.
The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops invite you to aid our faithful brothers and sisters in the Catholic Church of Latin America. To learn more about who the collection benefits, review the information below or visit How to Give to participate this January.
