Join our brothers and sisters throughout the Archdiocese of Indianapolis and worldwide on the weekend of May 31 - June 1, 2025, by supporting the Catholic Communication Campaign Annual Appeal. Please offer your prayerful, vocal, and financial support.
With the creation of its Rome bureau in 1950, Catholic News Service (CNS) has been documenting the travels of popes from its seat aboard the papal plane starting with Pope St. Paul VI and continuing today. In fact, with only one or two exceptions due to illness, CNS staff covered each of Pope St. John Paul II’s 104 foreign trips, Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI’s 24 foreign trips, and the 35 foreign trips that Pope Francis had made as of December 2021.
This intimate coverage of papal visits to world leaders, parliaments, and the poor—as well as Church leaders, pilgrims, and visitors at the Vatican—is made possible through funding received from the Catholic Communication Campaign.
The CNS Rome office is supported entirely through this crucial support from the Catholic Communication Campaign. When you support the campaign, you help the Catholic News Service in Rome produce and share the stories, photos, and videos not only of papal travels but also the daily work of the Holy Father’s ministry, in order to invite all people into a personal encounter with Jesus Christ.
Of the funds received from parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, half remain in our archdiocese to support local communication initiatives.
Your support for the CCC helps the Church to modernize how it communicates the joy of the Gospel. Not only does it help spread the faith, but it also helps form young disciples and gives them the practical skills they need to navigate today’s digital media environment. For more information about this collection and the projects it supports, visit www.usccb.org/ccc.
An envelope for the Catholic Communication Campaign is included in the monthly envelope packet. Please make sure your check is made payable to the parish church, clearly marking in the memo CCC 4046.
