The Bereavement Luncheon for St. Boniface Parish and St. Meinrad Parish is located in the parish center at St. Boniface Parish. Through the generosity of parishioners, the parish provides a simple luncheon, including catered fried chicken, two hot sides, lemonade, iced tea, and table service. Parishioners also provide homemade salads and desserts.
As noted on the funeral program, the luncheon will customarily begin following the graveside service upon the arrival of the deceased's immediate family.
*On days of fasting and abstinence during Lent, fish and potato medley substitute for the chicken and mashed potatoes and gravy.
Pleaste note: If the family wishes to choose an alternative location for a bereavement luncheon, the parish will pay for the cost of the rental of the facility or assist in the cost of catering, up to $300. The meal is to be catered with staff from the vendor, rather than parish volunteers.
For your convenience, the St. Boniface Parish Center doors will open at 7 a.m. on the day of funeral. Place side salads that need to be chilled directly into the refrigerator. Items may include fruit and vegetable salads, casseroles, scalloped potatoes, and desserts.
Please, no items containing nuts.
Please consider using recyclable dishes when sharing food items for the bereavement luncheon. Recyclable items will remain in the parish center kitchen for future use. If you bring a personal reusable dish, please identify it with a permanent or water-resistant label on the bottom and the lid.
