St. Meirnad Parish Cemetery, located in Spencer County, Indiana, has formed a society to honor those who have made gifts to the cemetery endowment. Named after the year of the parish’s founding, The 1861 Society at St. Meinrad Parish ensures that cemetery care and maintenance will continue in perpetuity.
A donor can remember the parish cemetery in his or her will, make a gift of $1,000 or more to the cemetery endowment, or commit to a monthly gift of $18.61 for five years. Make your gift online through the parish website or by using the envelope for The 1861 Society included in the monthly envelope packet.
Living and deceased members of The 1861 Society will be remembered in prayer at Mass annually near the parishes’ patronal feast day celebration. Also, society members are perpetually remembered in the honor roll listing for Christmas and Easter flowers and the honor roll listing at the annual picnic.

For more information about the society or the cemetery databases, contact Tina Boehm, Finance and Resource Coordinator, at the parish office at 812-357-6050.
The mail-in picnic sponsorship enrollment form deadline is August 1. Picnic sponsorship and “+ In Memory | In Honor” designees received after this deadline will be featured on the parish website and in upcoming editions of The Criterion, Spencer County Leader and The Ferdinand News when the 2022 picnic honor roll and sponsorship listing is published.
